Lessons I’ve learned attending web conferences
I wrote a post on Scattered Blogger (a blog for bloggers) on preparation tactics to implement when getting ready to hit the web conference season. This is the time of year I start looking at upcoming events and putting them on my calendar, looking at hotel rates and travel logistics. It’s a great way to network, learn about upcoming technologies and just get an overall feel for what’s coming down the pike.
Feel free to add your thoughts and experiences as well, I love to learn tricks to attend events as lean as possible. Check out the full article here.

Call my a bit timid…but my problem with conferences is going up to people and meeting them. I usually end up only meeting vendors…any tips to help me come out of my shell?
Sorry for the massive delay Jonathan, somehow this comment slipped passed me. Yes, the best thing to do is watch any tweets around the conference. Engage some users you think you might like to meet and interact with. If you can create some dialogue online, it makes it a lot easier to approach them at the conference. Once you have established a few strong contacts online you will have a pool of people to interact with at the conference. Also, once you have started conversing with them at the conference, chances are they will introduce you to others there. Then it’s just a snowball effect.
You can usually find people discussing the conference long before it happens on twitter.
